Fortney & Weygandt, Inc. is pleased to announce that Mitch Lapin has been named President, effective Friday, March 1st. He replaces Greg Freeh who will now serve as CEO of the company.
As we continue to celebrate our 40th anniversary, we have looked back at all the clients that have helped get us to this point and shaped our growth from a retail focused company working in malls to a multi-faceted general contractor working nationwide in a variety of construction segments.
Fortney & Weygandt, Inc. recently completed construction on City BBQ in Fairlawn, OH. This was a 3,519 square foot tenant build-out restaurant project.
Fortney & Weygandt, Inc. recently completed construction on a Panda Express restaurant in Chesapeake, VA. This was a new, free standing 2,216 square foot restaurant with a drive-thru.
If you read our blog article in April, then you know that for our 40th anniversary in the construction industry, we are giving back to our community. To do that, we asked employees to send in a list of charities that were important to them and we made a list of 40 to support throughout the year.
We at Fortney & Weygandt are happy to report that the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation awarded us a Certificate of 100% Achievement for preventing accidents and injuries in the work place during 2017. This award recognizes that we experienced no lost time accidents during the year. While there were a couple of minor injuries, our workforce competed 216,000 hours of work without a significant injury.
This year Fortney & Weygandt, Inc. is celebrating our 40th anniversary. Since 1978, a lot has changed, but Fortney & Weygandt’s commitment to service has always been there. Giving back and helping others was a personal philosophy of Bob Fortney’s as well as a part of how he conducted his business.
