Fortney & Weygandt’s most defining strength that has led our success since 1978 has surely been our staff. Whether our field staff, our project management team, or our internal support members, this is a group of professionals marked by long-term stability leading to one of the most qualified and knowledgeable construction teams in the industry. Our project managers, for example, have a combined total of 178 years project management experience, which averages 20 years experience per person. The result is a company unmatched in delivering quality construction services with craftsmanship, customer satisfaction and integrity. In effect, the entire Fortney & Weygandt staff is the “A” Team.
Management is committed to contributing to the accomplishment of each project undertaken. Below are just three of the people who will provide the leadership to make your project successful, Greg Freeh, President , Mitch Lapin, Vice President and Kris Martin, Treasurer.
Greg Freeh, President
With a degree in Civil Engineering, Greg Freeh joined the organization in 1983 and soon became Bob Fortney’s “right hand man”. He collaborates with the management team to achieve the company’s growth strategies. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the company, providing overall management leadership for all department leaders. He ensures that business operations are efficient and effective while optimizing the company’s staffing and resources. Greg actively develops and monitors strategies for ensuring the company’s long-term financial viability.
As President, he is actively engaged in all projects that Fortney & Weygandt, Inc. performs. He works closely with our architect partners, owners, developers, and clients to develop the best project outcomes through our design/build and value engineering programs. He has successfully initiated long-standing relationships with countless repeat clients.
Mitch Lapin, Vice President
Mitch Lapin joined Fortney & Weygandt, Inc. in 1994, starting as a Project Manager and then Vice President. His responsibilities include supervising Project Managers, working with the Estimating Department to finalize bids, working with the Accounting Department on corporate and job-specific financial matters, and participating in new business meetings.
Mitch also acts as Project Manager for select projects. Mitch holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Miami, Miami, Florida and a Master of Science in Construction Management from Case Western University , Cleveland, Ohio.
Kris Martin, Treasurer
Kris Martin has managed Fortney & Weygandt’s Accounting Department and finances since 1997. She is responsible for the development, implementation and administration of all accounting practices, policies and procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
Kris holds a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Robert Morris University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
